Submission
All submissions should be made online at the Reports on Geodesy and Geoinformatics site
https://www.editorialsystem.com/rgg.
New users will need to create an account. Once logged on to the site authors may make a submission or check the status of the manuscript.
Article types
The journal welcomes all original submissions of articles and reviews that comply with the
Aims and Scope of the journal.
All submissions must be original papers, and not be under consideration by a journal elsewhere.
If the paper contains anything that has already been published (e.g. figures) then this must be declared and authors are responsible for obtaining relevant permissions to republish. Evidence of permission granted must be available if requested – see in Reproduction of copyright material.
Peer-review and decisions
The journal uses single-blind peer review (the authors do not know the reviewers) to avoid bias.
See more information.
The Author(s) are kindly requested to submit, with the manuscript, the names, and e-mail addresses of
five potential reviewers. Note that the editor retains the sole right to decide whether or not the suggested reviewers are used. The names of potential reviewers should be entered in the section Comments for the Editor in the 1st step of online submission process.
After submission all articles are evaluated by the editorial office and may be immediately rejected if they are considered to be out of the journal's scope or otherwise unfit for consideration. Articles which passed initial evaluation will be sent out for external review. Reviewer reports with a decision from the editor will be returned to the authors as soon as possible, but please be patient as reviewing can take up to 60 days.
After review, the editor will make a decision of: reject, accept, or revise. Revisions may be major or minor. If a decision of revision is made, authors are asked to make their revisions as quickly as possible – if there are extensive delays in revising an article then it may be considered a new submission. Revised articles may be sent out for review again, depending on the level of revision requested.
Publication charges
Reports on Geodesy and Geoinformatics does not have article processing charges (APCs) nor article submission charges.
Guidelines for preparation of the manuscripts
The paper (with main text, abstract and keywords) should be submitted via web page.
For Word users
Document structure and typesetting:
- If possible, change the language of the document to English.
- The same font and font size should be used in the whole document (preferably Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman).
- Decimal point (not decimal comma) is a decimal separator used in the journal.
- Provide axis labels and units wherever needed.
- Use sentence-style capitalization in titles, subtitles and section titles (only the first word capitalized).
- The title should be followed by name(s) of the Author(s) and his/their affiliation (all centered).
- Underneath the authors' affiliation insert one blank line and write abstract. Abstract should not be longer than 200-250 words.
- Below the abstract add one blank line and write 2-5 Keywords (in lowercase).
- Sections and subsections should be numbered in decimal system, e.g. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.
- Between sections of the text add one empty line.
- Paragraphs should be clearly marked, either with indentation or one empty line between them.
- Define abbreviations when they first appear in the text.
- Don't use colour, for example by shading table rows or columns or marking values in colour other than black, unless it is necessary. To emphasise some of the values, use boldface instead. Explain the emphasis in the body of the article.
- Margins left, right, top, bottom: 2.5 cm; for the first page containing title top margin 5 cm.
Figures and Tables:
- All figures should be provided in the document or as additional files in graphic file formats (jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, gif, eps, svg).
- If the figures or pictures used in the article are not the author's own work, source of the graphics should be given.
- Tables and figures must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text (separate counter for figures and tables). All tables and figures must be mentioned in the main body of the article.
- The figures should be numbered below the figures, e.g. >"Fig. 3. Text"<.
- The tables should be numbered on the top of the table, e.g. >"Table 2. Text<.
- Captions and subcaptions should be added to the object with <insert caption> option.
- A consistent number of decimal places should be kept for values of the same quantity.
Equations:
- Both in-line and stand-alone equations should be edited with equation editor in MS Word.
- Equations should be numbered on the right and referenced in the text.
- All symbols used must be defined.
- Pay attention to proper interpunction (usually, equations are introduced with a colon and followed by a comma or a full stop).
Referencing and citation:
- Use the APA format as a style of citation and reference list (see Guidelines for APA Citation Style with examples).
- Include DOI number wherever possible.
- Sources listed in Crossref base are preferred.
- For non-English publications, give the original title (transliterated according to English rules if necessary), followed by its translation to English in square brackets wherever possible.
Additional information:
- The address for correspondence, e.g. name with title, the address of the institution, should be included at the end of the article. The electronic mail address of all Authors is indispensable for sending a proof and the final pdf file.
- Please supply all details required by any funding and grant-awarding bodies as Funding in a separate paragraph as follows:
For single agency grants:
This work was supported by the under Grant [number xxxx].
For multiple agency grants:
This work was supported by the <Funding Agency #1> under Grant [number xxxx]; <Funding Agency #2> under Grant [number xxxx]; and <Funding Agency #3> under Grant [number xxxx].
